My opinion...
Living in Houston, TX, with a population of six million plus is no easy task. If we have that many million people, think about the overcrowding of our public school system. I have heard stories of people graduating with some four hundred plus kids. Could you imagine? I certainly can't.
Thank God....
My parents had the foresight to put me into private school from the word go. I don't know if it's because of my brother and sister's stories and experiences about public school, they are 13+ years my senior, or if my parents had a crystal ball and could see what type of kid I would turn out to be. Whatever it was that helped them make that decision, I am forever thankful for.

Let me tell you why I think this way...
I am a bit, for lack of a better word, rebellious, at least I was once upon a long time ago. I got into my fair share of trouble at private school, enough to get you kicked out of public school, trust me on that. I had my fair share of boy trouble, got in with the wrong crowd, you can figure the rest out. I know in my heart, had my parents not sent me to Central Christian Academy in the 7th grade, I would not have graduated, and my life would be completely different from the one I lead now.
Also...
I would not have met my future husband, Shaun, yes, that's right, high school sweethearts. He came to Central in the 10th grade, although we did not "hook up" until our senior year, we would not have met had he or I been in public school at that time. And I would not have my wonderful extended family. They old saying goes, "I was in the right place, at the right time."
My Graduating class...
I had an astounding fourteen people in my graduating class, that's including me and Shaun. I would not have had, or wanted it, any other way. All the extra time and money my parents shelled out during my schooling is something for which I am eternally grateful. I could never pay them back for what they gave me a shot at, an education, a good one at that. I would not have "survived" in public school, I would have gotten expelled, pregnant, or messed up in drugs big time, it could have very well destroyed my life. So, mom, dad, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifices you made to ensure I had a good solid education.
